The principle of the Pipe Welding Machine can be divided into two main technical routes based on different types:
1. High-frequency pipe welding machine
Electromagnetic heating principle
Utilizing the skin effect of high-frequency current (current concentrating on the surface of the conductor) and the proximity effect (currents of adjacent conductors attracting each other), the edge of the metal strip is locally heated to a molten state through the inductor.
Typical parameters: When the frequency is 200 kHz, the edge temperature can reach 1500℃ (carbon steel).
Forming and welding process
The metal strip is gradually bent into a circle through multiple rolls;
After the edge is heated by the high-frequency power supply, the extrusion roller applies pressure to achieve fusion;
The water cooling system quickly cools down, and the sizing device controls the size of the finished product.
2. Automatic Pipe Welding Machine (such as TIG/MIG pipe welding machine)
Welding method
Hot wire TIG welding: The filler wire is preheated to 650-800℃, combining the bottom sealing characteristic of TIG welding and the deposition efficiency of MIG welding;
Pulse MIG welding: The arc power is precisely controlled by a fully digital inverter power supply to avoid incomplete penetration at the root and arc pit defects.
Control system
The welding kinematics and dynamics are controlled by computer software, including:
Open-loop joint chain positioning of the mechanical arm;
Real-time parameter adjustment (such as current, weld seam tracking) using PID/fuzzy algorithms.
Process comparison
High-frequency pipe welding machine has extremely high efficiency and is suitable for large-scale production of circular pipe materials.
Automatic pipe welding machine has medium efficiency and is suitable for high-quality welding of small diameter/low wall thickness pipes.
