Preparation for operating the welding pipe machine

When operating the carbon steel pipe welding machine, the following key points need to be noted:
1. Equipment Preparation and Debugging
Before starting the machine, perform the following checks:
Close the automatic switch and confirm that the power indicator light is on. Place the PLC status conversion switch in the running position and start the oil pump to ensure the hydraulic station is working properly.
Adjust the overflow valve pressure of the hydraulic station to a range of 3-4 MPa. Manually adjust the position of the welding gun and the distance from the workpiece to protect the gas flow rate at 10-25 L/min.
Pre-welding parameter verification
Check the gas flow rate of the welding gun nozzle, the matching of the welding wire and the electrode mouth, and whether the arc recovery current setting of the remote control box is reasonable.
Ensure that the PLC alarm indicator light is normal and avoid running the equipment with faults.
2. Welding Operation Specifications
Process Control
When using high-frequency induction welding, heat the pipe edge to the welding temperature through the current skin effect. The pressure of the extrusion roller needs to be uniform to ensure the quality of the weld seam.
During the welding process, do not rotate the main control switch. Clean the slag and debris at the welding gun nozzle in time.
Safety Protection
Wear a protective mask, gloves and fire-resistant clothing when welding. Ensure good ventilation to prevent CO₂ and CO accumulation from causing poisoning.
The distance between the oxygen cylinder and the acetylene cylinder should be ≥ 5 meters, and the distance from the open flame should be ≥ 10 meters. Close and tighten the safety cover after using the gas cylinder valve.
3. Finishing and Maintenance
Shutdown Procedure
Turn off the oil pump, welding power supply and main power supply. Lock the front and rear doors of the operation table, and clean the residual fire sources in the work area.
Check the appearance quality of the weld seam. If any problems are found, repair or re-weld them in time.
4. Special Environment Handling
In northern low-temperature environments, select carbon steel materials with anti-low-temperature performance (such as Q235D) to avoid cracking of the weld seam due to cold brittleness.
When working in a closed space, set up low-voltage lighting of 36V or less and forced ventilation equipment, and arrange a dedicated person for supervision. The above measures integrate requirements for equipment operation, process control and safety protection, and can effectively ensure welding quality and operational safety.
